Weaving with silk is one of Emi's specialities. She has researched about all the process of making silk yarns, from the cocoons to spinning the yarns in Japan. She uses many different varieties of silk to create different effects on her weaving.

Emi has created these double weaving with few different type of silk which were dyed with natural materials. Using different type of silk, it is possible to see layers of weaving and textures. These square patterns create unique shapes.

Emi has created warps using a special technique of dying called IKAT, which uses natural dyes and is one one of the most famous traditional techniques over the world. She has also woven these textiles with double weaving, using silks with different thickness which create unique textures and a rich colour mix.

Inspired from limestones
Emi has created these silk weaves using textured silk yarns, silk sheets and paper yarns dyed with natural dyes. She got inspired by the limestones from the Peak District in England. When finished, the weaves resemble water colour paints.

Rainbow trout
Emi has created these weaves with textured silk and using natural and traditional dying and weaving techniques from in Japan, inspired by the colours of the rainbow trouts while travelling in Japan. This technique of weaving consists in weaving weft yarns like weaves. This weaves are a combination of different types of weaving with weft yarns and patterned weaving which expresses various patterns on a weaving, like the reflecting colours from the skin of the a rainbow trout. Some elements of this collection were selected to be part of an exhibition of the Japanese silk association.

Emi has created these weaves using natural dyes from chalks gathered across England. She traveled to different spots along the coasts in England and collected various colour of chalks that she used to dye her silk yarns.
